If you're not using your credits, want to save money, or just fancy a break from audiobooks, cancelling your Audible membership is easy — but it must be done via the desktop website, not the mobile app.
Here’s how to do it:
Go to the Audible website:
Visit www.audible.co.uk and sign in to your account.
Access your account details:
Hover over your name at the top-right corner and click "Account Details" from the dropdown menu.
Go to membership settings:
Click "View Membership Details" on the left-hand side.
Click “Cancel membership”:
You'll be asked to confirm your decision and may be offered a discount or pause option instead.
Follow the prompts to complete cancellation.
Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
No, you can't cancel an Audible membership from the mobile app. You must do it through the website on a desktop or mobile browser.
You keep all audiobooks you’ve purchased — they stay in your library to download and re-listen anytime.
Unused credits may expire, depending on the terms of your plan. Use them before you cancel.
You lose member benefits, including discounts and access to the Audible Plus catalogue (if on that plan).
Yes! If you're not ready to cancel but want a break, Audible offers the option to pause your membership for up to 90 days (you keep your library, but don’t get new credits during the pause).
This option usually appears during the cancellation process.
Cancelling Audible is straightforward as long as you use the website, not the app. Just make sure you use up any remaining credits and download your audiobooks first. Whether you cancel or pause, your library is still yours to enjoy.
